This is a spot that members of the Kentucky-Tennessee Kiwanis can share ideas on the Kiwanis on projects, growth and things like club management.

  1. I would like to share details of a successful fundraiser we have implemented in the Kiwanis Club of Owensboro. We have held an annual TV/radio auction for 60+ years that has been declining in revenue due to fewer members and smaller audiences. To turn it around, we now host an annual Non-profit Chili Cook-off and have our auction during the event. Each non-profit is given 100 tickets to sale for $10 each. They keep 100% of the money raised from their ticket sales! This year, we had 22 non-profits represented, 400+ attendees, and raised over $25,000 for Kiwanis (before expenses). This event is a slam dunk for everyone involved. We serve hot dogs and drinks, and kids get in free and are encouraged to attend. Imagine if you could give $1,000 each to 22 different non-profits, and raise $25,000 for yourselves on top of that. It is a massive team effort, and it is showcasing the strength and unity of Kiwanis and our community bigger than we have done in years. I hope this gives you some ideas and encourages you to get out there, be creative, have fun, and grow together!
